Lingua AI is built around a simple idea: your learning is yours. The app's artificial intelligence runs entirely on your device, and the app has no accounts, no servers, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means for your information.

1. Who we are

Lingua AI (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is developed and published by Ibrahim Akcay, an independent app developer. You can reach us any time at emirhanakcay001@gmail.com. For the purposes of data-protection law (including the EU/UK GDPR and Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, “KVKK”), Ibrahim Akcay is the data controller for the very limited processing described below — in practice, only the emails you choose to send us.

2. The short version

Lingua AI does not collect, upload, sell or share any of your data. There are no accounts, no servers, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your translations, conversations, photos, voice, vocabulary and study statistics are processed only on your device. The app does not save your photos or audio; everything it does store stays on your device and is deleted when you delete the app.

3. On-device AI

Lingua AI's features — translation, word explanations, AI chat, vocabulary and monthly reports — are powered by an AI language model (Google's Gemma) that is built into the app and runs locally on your device's GPU (through Apple's Metal) and CPU.

  • Everything you type, translate, photograph or say is processed on your device only.
  • None of it is sent to us, to Google or to any other AI service. There is no cloud processing.
  • The app doesn't transmit your content over the internet, and every feature works with no connection at all.
  • Google created the Gemma model, but Google receives no data from the app.

4. Device permissions

The app asks for permissions only to power specific features. You can grant or deny each one, and change your choice later in iOS Settings. Anything captured through these permissions is used on your device, for that feature only.

Camera

Used only when you choose photo translation, to capture an image of the text you want to translate. The text is read with Apple's on-device text recognition; photos are never uploaded, and the app does not save them.

Microphone & speech recognition

Used only for voice input in the AI chat — when you tap the microphone, or after each reply while you have hands-free chat turned on. Your speech is transcribed exclusively by Apple's on-device speech recognition: the app never sends audio to Apple's servers or anywhere else, and it does not record or keep your audio. If your device has no on-device recognizer for a language, voice input is simply unavailable for that language.

Notifications

Optional. If you turn on reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device to nudge you toward your daily goal. They are created on your device; no push server is involved.

5. No ads, no analytics, no tracking

Lingua AI contains no advertising, analytics or tracking software (SDKs), and no third-party code that collects data. The app:

  • does not show ads;
  • does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) or any other identifier to track you, and therefore never asks for permission to track you;
  • does not collect usage analytics or crash reports of its own;
  • does not sell or share data with anyone, including advertisers and data brokers.

6. Data stored on your device

Your settings, saved words, translation history, quiz results, learning statistics and monthly reports are stored locally on your device, in the app's own storage. To answer repeated requests faster, the app also keeps a local cache of AI answers, which it deletes automatically after 30 days. Because all of this lives only on your device:

  • We cannot access it, and it is never uploaded to us — we have no servers.
  • Depending on your settings, iOS may include it in your own device or iCloud backups, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.
  • You can erase it at any time with Profile → Reset all data, which deletes your profile, saved words, translation history, quiz results, monthly reports and cached AI answers, and cancels reminders.
  • Deleting the app permanently removes this data from your device.

7. Apple & the App Store

You download Lingua AI from Apple's App Store, which Apple operates under its own terms and privacy policy. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers), Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous statistics such as installations or crash reports. Apple also shows developers aggregated download figures. This information does not identify you to us, is controlled by Apple, and we use it only to understand and improve the app. If you rate or review the app, Apple publishes your review on the App Store.

8. Emailing us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message (for example your device model or a screenshot). We use it only to reply to you, never share it, and delete it once it is no longer needed to help you — or sooner, if you ask. Emails travel through your email provider and ours (Google Gmail).

9. This website

This website (lingua-ai-offline.web.app) has no ads, analytics or tracking cookies. It is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which — like any web host — necessarily processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the service. The legal pages remember your language choice (English/Türkçe) only in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device.

10. Children

Lingua AI is intended for a general audience. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either. AI-generated content can occasionally be inaccurate or unexpected, so we recommend parental guidance for younger learners.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the EU/UK GDPR, Türkiye's KVKK or California's CCPA/CPRA — you have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to complain to a data-protection authority (in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Board). Because the app sends us nothing, we hold no personal data about you from the app; to erase everything the app has stored, simply delete it from your device. If you have emailed us, you can ask us at any time to access or delete that correspondence. For data held by Apple, please contact Apple.

12. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this policy and the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be highlighted within the app.

2. Kısa özet

3. Cihaz üstü yapay zekâ

Lingua AI'nin özellikleri — çeviri, kelime açıklamaları, yapay zekâ sohbeti, kelime dağarcığı ve aylık raporlar — uygulamaya dahil olan ve cihazınızın GPU'sunda (Apple Metal aracılığıyla) ve işlemcisinde yerel olarak çalışan bir yapay zekâ dil modeli (Google Gemma) tarafından sağlanır.

  • Yazdığınız, çevirdiğiniz, fotoğrafını çektiğiniz veya söylediğiniz her şey yalnızca cihazınızda işlenir.

4. Cihaz izinleri

Uygulama, izinleri yalnızca belirli özellikleri çalıştırmak için ister. Her birine izin verebilir veya reddedebilir, seçiminizi daha sonra iOS Ayarları'ndan değiştirebilirsiniz. Bu izinlerle elde edilen her şey yalnızca cihazınızda ve yalnızca ilgili özellik için kullanılır.

Kamera

Yalnızca fotoğrafla çeviriyi seçtiğinizde, çevirmek istediğiniz metnin görüntüsünü almak için kullanılır. Metin, Apple'ın cihaz üstü metin tanıma özelliğiyle okunur; fotoğraflar hiçbir yere yüklenmez ve uygulama tarafından saklanmaz.

Mikrofon ve konuşma tanıma

Yalnızca yapay zekâ sohbetinde sesli giriş için — mikrofona dokunduğunuzda veya eller serbest sohbet açıkken her yanıttan sonra — kullanılır. Konuşmanız yalnızca Apple'ın cihaz üstü konuşma tanımasıyla metne dönüştürülür: uygulama sesinizi hiçbir zaman Apple'ın sunucularına veya başka bir yere göndermez, kaydetmez ve saklamaz. Cihazınızda bir dil için cihaz üstü tanıma yoksa, o dilde sesli giriş kullanılamaz.

Bildirimler

İsteğe bağlıdır. Hatırlatıcıları açarsanız uygulama, günlük hedefinize yönlendirmek için cihazınızda yerel bildirimler planlar. Bunlar cihazınızda oluşturulur; herhangi bir bildirim sunucusu kullanılmaz.

5. Reklam, analitik ve izleme yok

Lingua AI hiçbir reklam, analitik veya izleme yazılımı (SDK) ve veri toplayan hiçbir üçüncü taraf kodu içermez. Uygulama:

  • reklam göstermez;
  • sizi izlemek için Apple'ın reklam tanımlayıcısını (IDFA) veya başka bir tanımlayıcıyı kullanmaz, bu nedenle sizden izleme izni de istemez;
  • kendi kullanım analitiğini veya çökme raporlarını toplamaz;
  • reklamverenler ve veri simsarları dahil hiç kimseye veri satmaz veya aktarmaz.

6. Cihazınızda saklanan veriler

Ayarlarınız, kaydettiğiniz kelimeler, çeviri geçmişiniz, sınav sonuçlarınız, öğrenme istatistikleriniz ve aylık raporlarınız cihazınızda, uygulamanın kendi depolama alanında saklanır. Tekrarlanan istekleri daha hızlı yanıtlamak için uygulama ayrıca yapay zekâ yanıtlarının yerel bir önbelleğini tutar ve bunları 30 gün sonra otomatik olarak siler. Bunların tümü yalnızca cihazınızda bulunduğundan:

  • Bunlara erişemeyiz ve hiçbir zaman bize yüklenmez — sunucumuz yoktur.
  • Ayarlarınıza bağlı olarak iOS, bunları kendi cihaz veya iCloud yedeklerinize dahil edebilir; bu yedekler Apple tarafından kendi gizlilik politikası kapsamında işlenir.
  • Bu verileri istediğiniz zaman Profil → Tüm verileri sıfırla seçeneğiyle silebilirsiniz; bu işlem profilinizi, kaydettiğiniz kelimeleri, çeviri geçmişinizi, sınav sonuçlarınızı, aylık raporlarınızı ve önbelleğe alınmış yapay zekâ yanıtlarını siler ve hatırlatıcıları iptal eder.
  • Uygulamayı silmek bu verileri cihazınızdan kalıcı olarak kaldırır.

7. Apple ve App Store

Lingua AI'yi, Apple'ın kendi koşulları ve gizlilik politikası kapsamında işlettiği App Store'dan indirirsiniz. iOS Ayarları'ndaki Gizlilik ve Güvenlik bölümünden analiz verilerini uygulama geliştiricileriyle paylaşmayı seçtiyseniz, Apple bize kurulumlar veya çökme raporları gibi toplu ve anonim istatistikler sağlayabilir. Apple ayrıca geliştiricilere toplu indirme rakamlarını gösterir. Bu bilgiler sizi bize tanıtmaz, Apple'ın kontrolündedir ve yalnızca uygulamayı anlamak ve iyileştirmek için kullanılır. Uygulamayı puanlar veya değerlendirirseniz, değerlendirmeniz Apple tarafından App Store'da yayımlanır.

8. Bize e-posta gönderdiğinizde

Bize e-posta gönderirseniz, e-posta adresinizi ve mesajınıza eklediğiniz her şeyi (örneğin cihaz modeliniz veya bir ekran görüntüsü) alırız. Bunları yalnızca size yanıt vermek için kullanır, kimseyle paylaşmaz ve size yardımcı olmak için artık gerekli olmadığında — ya da siz isterseniz daha önce — sileriz. E-postalar, sizin e-posta sağlayıcınız ve bizimki (Google Gmail) üzerinden iletilir.

9. Bu web sitesi

Bu web sitesinde (lingua-ai-offline.web.app) reklam, analitik veya izleme çerezi yoktur. Site Google Firebase Hosting üzerinde barındırılır; her web barındırma hizmetinde olduğu gibi, sayfaları sunmak ve hizmeti korumak için IP adresiniz ve tarayıcı türünüz gibi teknik veriler zorunlu olarak işlenir. Yasal sayfalar dil tercihinizi (English/Türkçe) yalnızca tarayıcınızın yerel depolamasında hatırlar; bu bilgi cihazınızdan çıkmaz.

10. Çocuklar

Lingua AI genel kitleye yöneliktir. Uygulama kimseden kişisel bilgi toplamadığı için çocuklardan da toplamaz. Yapay zekânın ürettiği içerik zaman zaman hatalı veya beklenmedik olabileceğinden, küçük yaştaki öğrenciler için ebeveyn rehberliğini öneririz.

11. Haklarınız

Yaşadığınız yere bağlı olarak — örneğin KVKK, AB/Birleşik Krallık GDPR veya Kaliforniya CCPA/CPRA kapsamında — kişisel verilerinize erişme, bunları düzeltme, silme veya işlenmesini kısıtlama ve bir veri koruma otoritesine (Türkiye'de Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurulu'na) şikâyette bulunma haklarına sahipsiniz. Uygulama bize hiçbir şey göndermediğinden, uygulama aracılığıyla hakkınızda hiçbir kişisel veri tutmayız; uygulamanın sakladığı her şeyi silmek için uygulamayı cihazınızdan kaldırmanız yeterlidir. Bize e-posta gönderdiyseniz, bu yazışmalara erişmeyi veya bunların silinmesini istediğiniz zaman talep edebilirsiniz. Apple'ın tuttuğu veriler için lütfen Apple ile iletişime geçin.

12. Bu politikadaki değişiklikler

Uygulamanın verileri işleme biçimini değiştirirsek, bu politikayı ve bu sayfanın üst kısmındaki “Son güncelleme” tarihini güncelleriz. Önemli değişiklikler uygulama içinde de duyurulabilir.
